Two Sundays ago we walked through 2 Timothy 2:2.
"The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
Reproducing spiritual leaders...this is what Jesus did...this is what Paul did with Timothy...this is what Paul instructed Timothy to do with others. What a cool gift for us to either seek someone out who can pour themselves into us for the purpose of being able to spiritually lead others or for us to pour into someone else so they can lead others. Lots of grace and lots of hard work...20 seconds of courage...go for it!
And this past Sunday we talked about how Jesus offers a pretty radical invitation to each of us. He says we can come to Him, be His disciple, His follower, if we deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him. In other words, are we willing to give up control of our own lives and fully submit to and yield to Jesus and His ways? are we willing to be rejected and humiliated for His Name? Are we willing to learn His ways and then be obedient to them? If so, on all three of these, then we can be His!
Living like this is actually where true life is! let's embrace it and allow Jesus to define the culture through us!
