Saturday Serve | August 21 | 9am- 12pm
Meet in the WEST END to receive your instructions.
For those who have trucks and are willing to serve at a local Used Items sale in Arlington, please contact Amy Nobles asap at
Join us as we help students get ready for back to school! We will be serving in Arlington, Fort Worth and in Grapevine in the school setting (for more info see below). This is great day for LifeGroups, families (all ages welcome!) and individuals to serve together. If you plan to come, please register here. Scroll down for more information about the day.
What to bring? If you have these items that we can use for the day, these things will really help us as we serve!
What to wear?
Comfortable clothing
Close toed shoes, or tennis shoes are preferred – you might be carrying heavy objects or gardening. We just want to protect your feet!
Where will we be? Here are the various projects going on that day!
SERVING LOCAL SCHOOLS
TIMBERLINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – GRAPEVINE
We will deliver backpacks of school supplies to TES. When our volunteers arrive they will be given a list of ‘jobs’ by school leaders. This will possibly include some light gardening, so please bring garden gloves and any of your favorite garden tools. We will be sprucing up their courtyard for the first day of school. We will also organize closets and get books ready for distribution.
CROSS TIMBERS MIDDLE SCHOOL – GRAPEVINE
We will deliver backpacks with school supplies to CTMS. School counselor, Lisa Hughes will greet you and then put you to work on various school projects to get the school ready for the first day of class!
SERVING INTERNATIONALS LOCALLY
UTA ARLINGTON – USED ITEMS SALE
This used items sale is for International students who are new to UTA. They have just arrived from various countries and our ministry partner ISI holds a huge Used Items sale on the UTA campus. We will be helping students bid on items and then getting those items transported to their new homes. If you have a truck or a heart for international ministry, this service project is for you!
Please contact Ron Bunyard for more information:
WORLD RELIEF – FORT WORTH
We will take backpacks to the World Relief Case workers to distribute to new children starting school. Then we will work on a gift bag for the families. This bag will have items to help a family that is just arriving from overseas. Children will be very helpful for this project because they will create a card welcoming the family to America.
