12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
In Revelation, John recorded the grand vision God gave him through an angel about the end times. John reminded us that we must always be ready for the return of Christ that will come suddenly and without warning. Just as Matthew 25:13 encouraged us to always be on watch, not knowing the day or the hour, John’s revelation reminds us that Jesus is coming soon.
But as the years go by, do you live like you really believe Jesus could return at any moment?
The judgment day is coming where the faithful will be rewarded and the unfaithful will be punished. When Jesus comes during the rapture, He will bring both grace and vengeance. On that day, what will be most important is how we have responded to the truth about Him, in this life.
- What did Christ mean by calling Himself the Alpha and the Omega?
- Do you believe that Jesus’ return is imminent? Would your life give evidence to this conviction?
- Pray that you will embrace anew the supremacy of Christ over all things and the promise that He will return soon.
