For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Yesterday at church we heard about the importance of leading people to live for Jesus Christ. The rhythm by which we do this is a continual cycle: INVITE, WORSHIP, DO LIFE TOGETHER, and SERVE. Each one is a progression that naturally flows from and into the other. This week we’ll be breaking down each of these concepts in our devotions.
All of this—inviting, worshipping, fellowshipping, serving—is for the purpose of bringing glory to God. Psalm 105:3 says, “Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.” What a great mission statement for us! To live is Christ! Living in rhythm with the intentional way God designed us, striving to be like Jesus, is how we accomplish this. As we point others to the Father, may we live the rest of our lives humbly seeking to pour out all we are for all He’s done.
• How are you seeking to live for Jesus? How can you point others to do the same?
• What does “to die is gain” mean? Does your life show evidence that you believe this? What needs to change?
• Thank God for the truth that our lives on earth are for the glory of Jesus and even the deaths of His people draw us closer to Him. Ask the Spirit to continue to reveal to you ways you need to live sacrificially for God’s glory.
